Ongoing Projects and Projects that need Funding
1. Scholarship Support Option
Purpose:
Beacon Helps has a long-standing commitment to supporting children’s education through partnerships with orphanages, football clubs, and community schools. In 2020, we expanded this commitment by establishing a scholarship fund in honor of Oyeman Nana Kwasi Ankrah III, Chief of Kitase Mpeduase Traditional Area.
This fund provides full scholarships to selected children, granting them the opportunity to attend Beacon School, Peduase. The scholarships cover all five primary school years, beginning from Year 1, and include tuition, educational materials, and meals. Each year, new recipients are awarded scholarships, ensuring sustained support for underprivileged children in Kitase.
In addition, Beacon Helps has pledged to support 200 underprivileged children in Bule, a remote village in northern Ghana, by offering them access to quality education through sponsorship.

2. School Construction Project Support Option
Purpose:
In 2023, Beacon Helps began constructing a school in response to an invitation from the Bule community, addressing the pressing need for nearby educational facilities. Currently, the closest school requires a four-hour daily walk, a daunting journey for young children under six. This year, we successfully launched a two-classroom block, including offices, now serving approximately 200 children with the support of five teachers.
However, the demand for education in the area far exceeds our current capacity. Many children are eager to attend, but limited space and resources have forced some students to learn under trees. To meet this growing need, our goal is to construct 12 classrooms. We also intend to provide these children with uniforms and also take care of their feeding during school hours. This project is urgent, and we aim to complete it by the end of the year, ensuring that children who have already started can move into a safe and conducive learning environment.

3. Inclusive Education Initiative at Beacon School, Peduase
Purpose:
Beacon Helps is dedicated to promoting inclusive education by integrating special needs children into the Beacon School, Peduase. Examples of the conditions of our children under Inclusive Education are Autism, Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, and Dyscalculia.
While significant strides have been made in this initiative, the growing demand has revealed the necessity for a dedicated facility. This specialized facility, located on the Beacon School premises, will feature trained teachers and tailored resources to meet the unique needs of these children. While remaining in the classroom, they will receive additional support and resources. The facility will also promote inclusivity by allowing special needs children to interact with peers during breaks and shared lessons.

4. Borehole for Clean Water
Purpose:
The Bule community faces a critical shortage of clean drinking water. In response, Beacon Helps is committed to drilling additional solar-powered boreholes to provide safe and reliable water for both the school and the wider community.
While one borehole has already been drilled, there is an urgent need for more to meet the community’s needs. Additionally, we require support to pipe water from the borehole to the Bule School and install a polytank to ensure consistent clean water supply for the school.

5. Agricultural Project
Purpose:
Beacon Helps has been generously gifted a 100-acre parcel of arable land by the leaders of the Bule community for farming. The initiative aims to cultivate an initial 10 acres with cereal crops to improve the livelihood of the community and create sustainability for the school.
Additionally, acquiring a tractor, plough, planter, chemical sprayer and harvester will enhance efficiency and provide rental opportunities for local farmers to improve their personal farms. To ensure year-round cultivation, we also plan to drill boreholes for irrigation.

6. Accommodation for Missionaries and Bule Teachers
Purpose:
Beacon Helps often hosts short-term missionaries and sends staff from Beacon School in Peduase to the Bule region to carry out educational and community development activities. To minimize accommodation costs and ensure safe, economical lodging, we propose constructing a small residential facility in Bule. The accommodation will also provide housing for the teaching staff of Bule School.
The accommodation will consist of four modest mud houses with thatch roofing, designed to provide a cost-effective and sustainable solution, creating a true African village experience. Initial construction has begun, and we are seeking support to complete this essential project.

7. Bridge Construction Support Option
Purpose:
The lack of a bridge connecting the two Bulee communities (Bulee 1 and Bulee 2), separated by the Kulkpong River, creates significant hardships for the villagers. During the rainy season, access to essential services such as schools, medical facilities, and food sources becomes extremely difficult.
The proposed swing bridge across the Kulkpong River will address these challenges, improving daily life for the villagers. This bridge will also enable children from Bulee 1 to attend the newly constructed school in Bulee 2, fostering educational opportunities for the community.
